Finally a good bloom opening day

With rain and cool nights, blooms have been slow to open or spattered and splotchy! This morning they were in good form. Here are just a few.
Spirit Fox—I think Celeste talked about how bright this bloom is. Correct!! very bright! This came from Laura last fall.

Tp0 begin with, I like the old bed! That dark one is a beauty! Nicholas Brunetti is lovely, always love Sweet Isabella butySpitrit Fox makes my heart beat faster. I so love bright orange and red daylilies. I am very glad you are finally catching a weather break.

Thanks Kay! That older bed’s clumps are getting way too big! Houzz dropped my additional photos but will try again!

I'm glad you are having a good bloom day! Spirit Fox is a bight one that really shines. I've seen Sweet Isabela on three posts today, and she looks good in everyone's gardens. Nicholas Brunetti looks like a wonderful patterned cultivar. Is that one new for you? I like the velvety dark purple on Windy Hill Dark Secret, and Voila Francois is always a crowd pleaser. The others are pretty too! Thanks for sharing your blooms with us!

Love your garden pics.Wow, so many blooms and so many buds yet to open. Spirit Fox has an amazing color and New Paradigm looks great.Song Of Promise has just that right amount of "near white". I'll have to go and look that one up.

Debra, Nicholas Brunetti is new from last fall. I was not sure about it as the plant was small and looked really puny. But it has grown and bloomed really well. Windyhill Dark Secret was a bonus and I think I am going to like it.

Julia, Song of Promise is an older one but it is a keeper for me. It is huge at 7-8 inches. A real standout!

Spirit Fox is indeed a brightly colored daylily. Sweet Isabella is my other pick today. I love your garden shots.

I have Nobel, a child of Song of Promise. The Dougherty near-whites are not appreciated enough.

Beautiful blooms! Spirit Fox sure looks happy in MS, love that bright color. Song of Promise is lovely. I always like seeing the garden shots, thanks for sharing!

Kate, how tall is your yellow garden noid? I have Caledonia and yours reminds me of it. Mine will be blooming in a couple of weeks, seems like you are a couple weeks ahead of me. I think mine is around 28 to 30" tall, large flowers at least 6"? Heavy bloomer and lasts long time.

Nancy, i have never had Caledonia. BUT, I may have identified my yellow noid. It may be Imperial Lemon which I know I had at one time. It is approximately 36 inches tall and blooms are 7-8 inches. That is what makes it so imposing! I spent some time going through old notebooks and notes this weekend and saw that name and a lightbulb went off (they usually go out!!) and I really think that may be it. I bet your Caledonia is a bright spot in your garden!
