and/or paint both a green that is the same color / shade of green of plants you like that keep their leaves and look good year round and do well in your area -- and then plant some of those around the several corners of the yard.

I was impressed with the walk up to the Russian Orthodox Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Jerusalem. Notice the tons of plants in pots everywhere! I think you could pull off something similar.

It’s not clear to me if you entirely own that wall and fence. If it is not entirely yours, take care with how you plant around the foundations and how you use climbing vines. Even if it is all yours, be careful not to undermine the foundations of the fence or inadvertantly give yourself or your neighbors water run-off problems that could affect the houses.

I think I would start by covering the whole section with lattice - to make it uniform. Then planters in front of the wall.

Low cost easy solution would be to use the two Star Jasmines and the Blue Plumbago which you already have in those pots. Plant them in the bed and train along the fence. I’d also remove the various different little bits of stone used as dividers.

Would stain the fence or protect it with CWF -- make the fence itself look good rather than adding lattice and trying to hide it.

Consider creating three distinctly separate planting areas alongside the fence -- the tree in a large enough space to enable it to grow ... and a place where you can put your stones near but not against the tree -- and two other planting areas, each of which is level -- one the height as the top of the steps and the other lower and cap the concrete with brick or stone, you could put your favorite tall growing plant(s) in the lower planter and your favorite shorter growing plant(s) in the higher planter.

If this is a patio rather than a driveway, you can then use some of the same kind of brick to create square pedestals at the boundary line at each corner of your lot to decorate and identify your personal space and use those pedestals as flower pot stands -- how large you make each pedestal would depend upon your space and intended use.

hold a bird bath -- a terra cotta flower pot drain bowl -- and/or

a metal fire pit -- use the brick to surround an old "bowl" of a BBQ grill;

If you have an old plastic christmas tree stand with a wide base that sits flat on the ground with "screws" that would hold a 4"x4" 6' post upright, you could add brackets to that portable stand hanging flower pots or wind chimes or bird feeders or bird houses -- just make sure you balance the weight on each side of the post.

For the concrete slab at the bottom of the steps that is raised above the rest of the concrete slab, consider facing that with the same brick (or a faux brick in the same color) as well. Alternately, intentionally choose an entirely different brick for the patio floor space.
