One of the front beds, Paradise Joyce, Krossa, Robert Frosts next to Krossa, two world Cups in back behind Krossa and one Pauls Glory. The two you can’t see are in front on either side of PA are Water Slides.

Hostas along the fence and stone wall.

Vulcan,Island Breeze, Magic Island,So Sweet,American Halo,Blazing Saddles is the big one behind the angel. There are a few more, but they don’ fit in the picture.

Shadow - I envy you all that space for such a great variety of Hostas! Your display is a beautiful property!

I'm still struggling with placement in my gardens. I've moved some hostas already this year, ands still not totally happy with their locations, so will likely be another move.

Do you guys have any hints on how to space out colours, sizes, etc.?

@gardenchick2010 - no tips from me on spacing - after year 3 in ground it seems like all my Hostas are 5 x’s size they were when planted & crowded. See my June in my first pic for example. it’s crowding the minis on either side of it. I do read the tags for size guidance but the plants don’t pay attention. For color I favor varigated & brighter yellow patterns for brightness that brings to a shady spot. I love ’Ginger Ale’ Heuchera / Coral Bells mixed in for the color contrast too. I also have tall hardy fuchsias at the back of planting beds with my hostas. In my first 2 pics posted here earlier, you can see them starting to come up behind the half circle plant supports - a ’ Golden Gate’ fuchsia is at each end of the bed in first 2 pics with different taller ones behind. The fuchsias bloom after Hostas so something always going on for the hummingbirds!

I have been more random in plantings in the past, but the last few years have put more thought into the colors and sizes. one idea i got from steveduggins is to place pots in the areas where I am considering planting them. I have plant sticks.with color, size and light conditions written down and stuck in the wholes at the bottom. I have been moving them around depending on whhere the sun is and also changing my mind on colors as well. I also removed a hosta i never really liked to make room for a more desired one.

this is not pretty but I'm happy!..I participated in my neighborhood garage sale..I sold some Clausa!..it feels great to get started..
