Sunflowers help!!

I just purchased my sunflowers 5 days ago and I haven’t put them into the ground yet. I was hoping that I could grow them in containers, however, the leaves are browning and drooping. Please help, and send suggestions if I need to plant into the ground.

Browning and drooping sounds like dehydration. Have you repotted yet? If they came in small, plastic nursery pots and now are sitting in the sun, they need to be watered generously, until the water comes out the bottom holes. Move to a larger container or plant in the ground.
