If Ruggables says it is not for use with stairs; I would not use it on the stairs❣️

I know but what's their thinking... the pad is not compatible, not planning to use it. Not secure on steps, going to staple, won't be able to remove, not planning to wash. Now if it's because the weave won't hold up that's a different story.

That's why I'm looking to see if someone might have tried it.

Did you end up putting it on your stairs ? I was thinking of doing the same thing . Purchasing another pad , 3 runners and stapling . They are a great fabric and color options .

I had an idea…staple down the ruggable pad and then would the ruggable rug velcro to it and then I could actually wash my stair runner when needed?!?

I haven’t purchased anything from Ruggable yet and I’m definitely thinking about the stair runner idea because I really like some of these patterns and for whatever reason my husband likes these better than the Dash and Albert stuff, even though it’s basically the same price…. Anyways. Since you have discussed this situation last year. I hope you could tell me about the durability of the actual rug? If I used it on the stairs I’d probably only buy the rug without the pads they offer and use a regular padding underneath and staple as well as use those dumb stair bar thingys. Would these hold up?

The weave on Ruggables isn't like other rugs. I got a tear in mine somehow and it sliced clean as a whistle with no fibers showing at all, picture paper (altho it's thicker than that, but does not appear to be woven or tufted in any way). So I think putting staples in one would be risky business, as I think it could easily tear.

Did you try it? I am thinking of doing the same. Except I plan to staple down the ruggable pad, and then stick the rug covering over it so it is still removable and washable, and so there wouldn't be any staples through it.

I have a ruggable and wouldn’t ever try it on stairs.

Mine is a runner. I hate it and will never buy another. The rug and its pad are not the same size. The rug is too big and the edges roll up. And the color was NOT what they said it was - it said beige and black. It’s gray and black and looks foolish on my beige tile floor.

I will say, though, that when I complained to the company about the edge rolls, they refunded my money and suggested I buy another rug that might fit better. Ha! I’ll use this one till I find a different non-Ruggable rug and then I’ll toss this one.

That's unfortunate. I'm sure you can sell it on FB Marketplace quite easily when you're ready.

I have ruggables in my kitchen and my foyer, and I love them. The rest of my house I have genuine antique wool rugs, but in high traffic areas I want washable.

There should be little triangles where you can tuck the pad corners into the rug, so I don't have any problem with it rolling up. Mine lay perfectly, and I love them because they're so easy to vacuum and even sweep with a broom. I will agree though that they don't give enough close-up pictures so it's really hard to see the whole pattern and colors. Luckily I was happy with mine when they arrived, but they definitely need more pictures.

Oh yes, Mallory, there are triangular pockets.

This is the picture (obviously this is pad-side-up with sheets of paper inserted so the differences can be seen) I sent to Ruggable - the other end of my rug is tucked smoothly into one of its pockets, but on this end you can see the cover is about 2” too long and 1.5” too wide. I tried splitting the difference between the two ends, but then the rolling was on all sides.
