Garage epoxy coating

Help me pick a color for our epoxy garage coating. I love both! Wall color in garage is pictured as well for reference.

I would pick the one with the darker flakes (higher contrast). Be sure to do all the required prep work so that you get good adhesion of the epoxy to your concretefloor. If properly installed, this floorwill give you many years of beauty and enjoyment

We are hiring a very reputable company to do the work so they will ensure the prep work is done correctly!

"so they will ensure the prep work is done correctly!"

Just make sure that this is all in writing in the contract.

It depends. The higher contrast floor screams "vinyl chip floor" and will hide debris better. The subtler chip mix will provide more light and be different.

I wanted a solid white chip floor in my house, garage and shop. Was REALLY advised against it and I tried hard to find a mix I could live with ("standard" or custom) and I just didn't see anything that I wanted.

I am glad I have the monochromatic floor. it's actually EASY to find anything out of place, a super soft broom takes care of everything, or a 36" wide dustmop.

Prep is key - as you know. We also coved the edges so that there is a good transition to the wall and you don't see the icky seam in the concrete.

Just-janni has it right with the more monochromatic color. GREAT idea to cove the edges, so much easier to sweep.

Yes, we have a contract and fully trust the company we are using. It’s going into our new construction home so prep should be minimal outside of diamond grinding the concrete for prep.

Maybe it's my monitor. The lighter sample appears to have a red tinge that doesn't go with the wall tones.

Probably just your monitor or my picture taking skills as it’s a true silver/gray. No red!

we did the one on the right with black specks, and I had them add more black and gray and also have similar wall colors. What did you choose?

this is the supplier of chips www.torginol.com BTW they are having supply chain issues so you may have to select color from what they have in stock - I recommend you have them use Polyurea at least for the top coat as it is UV resistant (epoxy is not)

Whitney S - We went with a light beige color with flecks of black, gray and white.

TIPS: Buy something like small area rugs, or rubber mats to have under each tire. They will eliminate tire marks. Use boot trays to catch drips from the air-conditioning. Don't use cleaners on the floor...only use water and a little soap. Cleaners can dull the shiny top finish off of the floor. Ask how I know!

Buy a battery leaf blower. you would be amazed how fast you can clean the garage floor, spider webs, etc.

My dh is obsessed with his leaf blower. he even has an attachment that blows out the gutters. he uses that thing constantly, lol lol.
