Whiteflies can be as small as 1/12 of an inch, are somewhat triangular when seen from above, and are often (not always) found in clusters on the undersides of leaves. They suck sap and are active during the day and will scatter when disturbed. Their excrement is a clear, sticky honeydew substance that can eventually turn black. Adults can place their eggs on the undersides of leaves, typically in concentric patterns. You can use a garlic spray on them, yellow sticky traps, ladybugs, insecticidal soap like safer soap can be used to knock down heavy infestations (those types of soaps coat the eggs and larvae and that makes it difficult breathe), neem oil or Safer Yard And Garden Spray.

Aphids suck plant sap during the day too so look for them on leaves, branch tips and flowers. Leaves may look distorted, deformed, curvy, or damaged (off color) where they sucked sap. Their excrement is a clear, sticky honeydew substance that can eventually turn black. Try using a hard blast of water from the hose to dislodge and injure them while they suck sap (you may need to do this several times until the numbers go down), neem oil, insecticidal soaps, and horticultural oils or diatomaceous earth (use DE when not blooming as it can harm pollinators).

@luis_pr If I go with neem oil, how often should I be applying that?

Depends on the individual product's directions. Open the product label and see what yours says. The one I have is a Bonide Neem Oil 32 Oz. Spray Bottle that says to re-apply every 7-14 days for insect problems unless it is a heavy infestation, in which case re-apply every 7 days.
