I would paint the entire room Ultra White, trim and all.

Replace the valance with a gray bamboo shade (if you need privacy. Ditch all the cute decor. add 1 large modern (abstract style) piece of art that you are drawn to in Gray/Yellow/Black, above the toilet. It's just a bathroom, doesn't have to reflect the style of the entire house.

I am no paint expert I would google or you tube painting tile videos.

I would just remove the valance, and remove the too small art and shelving. Get just one large peice of art to use on the wall where you currently have your shelf. It's fine to hang it over the gray stripe.

I have to agree about the yellow and that tile. the two are opposing forces. the yellow is warm and vintage, the floor is cool and more modern/traditional.

the tile could easily be painted white by calling in those bathrub reglazing companies. they spray a white epoxy coating on them and they'll look brand new. (I suppose you could do gray if you want)

cost for a bathtub is a bout 350-400, so I don't imagine the tiles would be much more.

Hi! The upgrades you've done thus far look great! Some recommendations would be new wall art than contribute to the style, a sunflower picture but larger and maybe a black and white piece of art over the toilet. Corner shelving could be another option to display décor in between the toilet wall and the window wall. Hope this helps! Best of luck!
