The front doors open directly to a view of the backyard and pool. I wanted to keep the through way view to make it feel more open. The whole house is really modern contemporary and i would like to give that feeling right from the entry.

You are really dealing with a space of 8x10 since the entry way is not a usable space to place furniture; this would be considered part of the traffic pattern or path leading to the various rooms in the house.
In the area you are concerned about, I would place a nice rug in this space with a contemporary sideboard on the wall opposite the powder room with tall lamps on each end and beautiful piece of art hanging above the sideboard.
Looking at your plan, the window doesn't look like you have room for panels on each side. You may have to leave the window "as is" or do a window treatment at the top of the window.
Of course, a beautiful light fixture would contribute to the whole look.
Everything you choose to go in this area should be contemporary if this is the look you are going for.

In the southwest, we call this a zaguan, a space leading from the front door to the back courtyard, also useful for cross-ventilation when they were common a century ago. The key to this space is simplicity with an unobstructed view to a lush scene on the other side. A beautiful runner leading the eye back, perhaps a console on the wall opposite the powder room are all you need. Concentrate on the view beyond the back door and allow this space to simply frame it.
