Do they have to be black?

The floor is black, accents like drapes are going to be black. The house is gray, black, white throughout.. only colors are in art work

They look good bare. shades of some kind if privacy needed.

I was thinking paint the doors black too. Then get shades for doors in privacy level or light control level you want. If you don’t need either, leave them bare but super clean inside and out. Another possibility is a screen that would be easy to move as needed. Something simple like a Shoji screen.

I love the idea of black drapes in your place, especially with the black floor. You could also do white drapes; I have faux white silk blackout drapes with white walls & ceilings and a white/pale gray LVP floor, and I love the look. Alternatively, what about black & white drapes in a pattern.

Paint them black, leave them bare. And by the way???

Ditch the six panel door for a single panel : ) ................way too fussy with the six panel, my friend........unless you have a look that demands it. Doesn't seem so.

I would not use black drapes--I find them depressing and gloomy. White linen would be very pretty, as would shades.

Dissenter here … I would not paint the doors black (so trendy, be different) and would get black curtains. I think it’d look gorgeous, lush, and dramatic … and sounds more in tune with your decor aesthetic. Also easy to change if desired at some point.

Thank you all for your feedback. I’m going to follow all your advise. I had planned to replace all inner six panel doors with black single panel solid doors, so that advise is well taken. I’ll paint the doors black and get blinds on the window only as I want to block sun/heat. I will do the dramatic black drapes in the bedrooms. 🙏🏼. I know maybe trendy to do the black doors, but the pics I’ve seen look great.

That’s gorgeous, tozmo. And I’m well aware that black doors aren’t something new. I’ve studied Draper’s style extensively.

But that’s not the style I was referring to.

Still — if OP is planning on painting the other doors black, as he stated after my post and I did not know before, I think it will look great in his room.

Drapes add an elegance, but don‘t suggest black ones.

The doors in my foyer are painted black and I absolutely love them (I have classic silver walls from Behr with ultra white semi gloss trim)!

Black sheers can be very dramatic and beautiful.....
