We are going 5-7/8" everywhere (drawers and cabinets.) Putting more than one pull on longer drawers. Knobs on tiny apothecary drawers. Our pantry is off the mud room and it will have at least 5-7/8" pulls on pocket doors. You could do longer pulls on your pantry door.

This may help you with sizing: One or two pulls

Im going thru the same delima! I decided this morning my larger drawers will be 10”. The smaller drawers and all upper cabinets(accept above fridge that will be knobs) will be 6”. My bookshelves, laundry room, bathroom, hall linenin closet and master closet drawers will have either 8” pulls or knobs. I need a total of 55 items I’m trying to find all those sizes in a multi pac but no luck yet! I might have to buy the 10” and 8” individually which is pricey.

Im not even sure what to put on the trash can pull out! I know it needs to be a pull but do i install it up/down or sideways like a drawer?

We have a trash rollout and we used a pull sideways like a drawer. It’s a good visual clue when guests ask where the trashcan is.

How you do your hardware is personal. There are no rules cast on stone. I wanted my simple “Plain & Fancy” cabinets to be the star, so I chose simple pulls for all my cabinets and drawers.
