Blooming on Monday

Slowing down a little now, but if you ignore the weeds, I think the garden looks better than it ever has. Some things are off. We have discussed odd blooming times. I have a few plants that are shorter than usual, some taller than usual, but I have a few that blooms are smaller this year. Plant looks healthy, one case there are more blooms, could be the reason for others since I don't keep close tabs on bud count. I am already seeing rebloom scapes on several plants, and we have not had rain in week and half.

OK, maybe I can't post pics...

I like the flowers of Crazy Ivan, but tired of it being down in foliage. Is there a similar looking one with a large flower that is taller?

My new phone seems to do the color of Mean Green much better

Reminds Me of Fireworks is trying to push out everything in its way

    Spacecoast Frances Busby

    Jumping Jack

Primal scream brighter than the picture shows

Lotus Position is one the flowers are smaller, but has better branching and more flowers than it ever has had

Your second garden shot is my favorite photo. Great shot of SC Francis Busby! My Crazy Ivan has short scapes this year too. The Dominator is one that's similar, but has never been in foliage for me. Morning Fog and Gift from Heaven stand out to me.

Come down here and get your rain. It has escaped to my yard and you are welcome to it, Nancy. Nice pictures today.. you are right, Mean Green looks great and much more like it should. Lincoln Andrea is a really pretty photo with the other flowers. I really like that one. And Francis Busby is always a winner. Your garden shots are pretty. And I have had the same experience...more flowers but not as large blooms; Heart of Glass was like that this year. Nice post, Nancy.

I love the garden shots, especially the sidewalk heading down to the circular drive-what a welcome for visitors! Gift from Heaven and Reminds Me of Fireworks are really putting on a show!

I‘m glad you included garden shots today, i always enjoy seeing them. Reminds me of Fireworks and Gift From Heaven are my favorites today. The plant habits are off in my gardens too, kind of disappointing at times.

Well you know I love to see garden shots and these are wonderful. Forty Days And Forty Nights is beautiful. Lincoln Andrea with the white flower (not sue what it is) is picture perfect. Lovely group Nancy.

I was excited to see Forty Days and Forty Nights as I just added it here in my gardens this spring. Not sure I will see it bloom this year so nice to see an image of what is to come . I absolutely love Sp. Francis Busby but can't find it anywhere in Canada . There are lots and lots of Spacecoast cultivars here , just not that one . I wonder why ?

The white flower looks like Yarrow to me Julia.

Thanks, Debra, I will keep and eye out for the Dominator. S. Francis Busby is not going to have a lot of blooms this year, but the blooms are looking especially good.

Kay, I am really enjoying my garden this year. My husband always liked my daylilies, especially the dark ones or unusual ones like Pigmrnt or Imagination. I thing I am going to make a bed in his memory, along with a few with names that make me think of him.

Kate, I have had Gift from Heaven probably over 10 years, it has been slow to multiply, but then I have shared it a few times too. The last couple of years it has just really show off.

Sherry, Reminds me of Fireworks is really a good plant. Especially if you have space. It spreads fast.

Julia, Lincoln A was new last year, and I am liking it too. I had never heard of it before. It has done nicely this year, and that is indeed yarrow. Starts out a Coral color, I have to pull out a lot of it every year, but most of the dsylilies seem to hold their own against it.

I hope Forty Days and Forty Nights blooms for you this year, it is such a pretty flower. Of course, I am a big fan of that look, I seem to have an abundance of them. It blooms really well, I am sure you will like it.

    Thank you all for commenting!

With the exception of Primal Scream, your phone seems to give accurate coloration. Arnold's Daughter may be a bit more yellowish than reality. Works for Me is somewhat similar to Crazy Ivan, though CI has a more blackish edge than the deep purple of W for Me.
