What type of paint do you have. Is it flat, eggshell, satin, semi gloss etc.

The walls are painted with flat paint. I've only used a damp cloth; afraid to try any cleaning solution.

Most on here like Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore. I much prefer the better grades of Valspar. My daughter in law uses Behr Marquee, and gets a beautiful paint job all the time, so its really just personal preference. Just buy good quality paint. Dont buy the cheapest grades.

Blue can should be bm Regal, and is a good quality paint. It shouldnt behave like that when you try to wash off a spot, if its eggshell. You might try Matte finish the next time you repaint, or since it is a kitchen maybe a bit of a sheen and use Satin.

I personally like semi-gloss in the kitchen. Easy to clean. Semi-gloss will have a sheen, not flat.
