So are you going to put an iron fertilizer on it?

I did add some fertilizer, just miracle grow. That That’s what I had. what would you reccomend? I did have a number of other hostas that showed some of the same patterning ……I have not had the soil tested yet…… here you jave to take samples downtown to city hall. With the accident I had recently in the garden, that may not happen until next spring.

And, by the way, I have found the same kind of leaves in a couple of my hosta.

I've had a few that look like that when the first leaves unfurl. But it it so uniform, rather than the blotchy-ness that shows up with HVX, I wouldn't worry about it. I am very happy with your results and that you can sleep happlily tonight. Remember that fertilizer should be applied "weekly, weakly". You don't want to burn them with fertilizer.

I think I said this in your previous post but, I would still recommend the Miracle Grow for Azaleas. You may not be deficient with iron. Instead, you may have low acid soil, which makes it hard for the plant to take up iron. (It's a common problem here with our alkaline soil.) The Miracle Grow for Azaleas is for acid loving plants.

Or live with it. I have some soil acidifier I was thinking about adding near the house foundation as Hosta don't seem to grow well for me there. But it could be lack of sun/water too.
