Do you have a photo to share? One of us may be able to ID it and that could help with the answer. From what I understand from the experts here (who will chime in), is the green will become the prominent color because the varigated ones are developed from all green. Not completely sure if that’s correct……. I will be corrected if not. Some people just cut the reverted leaves hoping they don’t come back. But if you separated reverted sections, perhaps you did not get all of the crown that these leaves were growing from hence the reverted leaves came back. I am guessing here…… once again, post a pic of the hosta as that could help understand what’s going on.

The solid color will take over as it has more chlorophyll and will generate more energy getting bigger and bigger. It may take a few years. I like to just grab all the reverting leaves at the base and twist and pull and the eye just pops out. Its so easy, it doesn't matter if I have to do it every year, but so far I haven't seen the reversion come back (yet). Alternately, you could dig the whole clump up in hopes of removing all of the offending crown and (in theory) never have to deal with it again.

Thanks, everyone, for responses. I really like the idea to twist-and-pop the odd leaves! Now to have the courage to attack, and the ability to get up off the ground afterwards. lol
