I personally would want my handles to match.

what did you end up doing? Have a similar dilemma but with sub-zero fridge...really dont' want handles, but not sure edge pulls are practical for the fridge...the rest of cabinets are touch open

For the DW you could have done the Miele with the K2O (knock to open) option. No handles needed, but could have put in an edge pull just to match the rest of the kitchen.

What type of panel is it? If it's wood, you could have a cabinet maker make a handle that is the same material or have one made and paint it if you have painted panels.

But yes, I would go with a pull handle. I have a 36" side by side JennAir and it is heavy to open. Especially after opening the freezer side, the suction is great. You really have to pull.

I thought about getting the cabinet maker to make walnut handles for mine, but decided to go with the chrome ones from JennAir. I like the long lean look of them. As you can see, my other cabinets are touch. It is a kitchen after all.

@chispa Funny you say that, we ended up getting the Miele K2O because the Bosch was backordered until November. So we are probably going to do as you suggest and put an edge pull on it to match the rest of the row. @Natalie for the refrigerator/freezer, we are going to do regular appliance pulls by same brand in same finish as the edge pulls. The fridge door is actually push to open so we tecnhically don't need one but it's super heavy and will be easier with a large handle that matches the few handles we needed to put on cabinets where the edge pulls didn't work. The freezer drawer needs a handle anyway, so the two will match - having used the fridge/freezer for a couple of weeks now, I can't see how edge pulls would work - doors are just too heavy and close very solidly.
