I don't see it as a good idea for the space; looks good as is. What's the benefit of adding the door?

Thx! It’s meant to hide all the games. We like having them on the main floor but we don’t want to see them and there’s no other place for them so…🤷‍♀️

If your goal is to minimize clutter, I would simplify the door style to match the pretty panels on each end. An alternative might be baskets for games, etc.

IMO all that clutter needs to be hidden so I would do by pass barn doors I do not think one door will look good at all. or find another home for the games and just do that cabinet for looks with not too many items.

For that work and money and time you can get a whole new piece
That has doors or drawers.

I would get some large baskets that fill the space and allow the games to be contained and hidden. I agree that half a door would not be the answer

I think a sliding door of some sort is an excellent idea. Baskets rarely work well for storing things that a kid needs to dig into to find what they want.

Put all the games on one side and your pretty stuff on the other.. I would try to find the most unintrusive sliding mechanism that would fit.

Consider having a carpenter build boxes that fit that space perfectly. I say no to the barn door because the style is wrong for the cabinet.

If you want doors, you need 2 on the bottom as Amy Lynn suggested.

Definitely to not do a barn door as it will look unintentional and cheap . have cabinet doors build on your lower shelves. you have a beautiful house!

I second Amy Lynn’s idea for adding 4 doors. you can buy unfinished custom sized doors from Barker Doors or Scherr’s
