I love LINDA GLUCK. I can't wait for mine to start blooming. I don't have any other way to describe it than to call it clean. When in full sun, it becomes almost all "white" with a thin pink edge. It holds up well in full sun and looks just as fresh in the evening as it did in the morning.

Out of the darkness came light, or my August Frost x Winter's Angel late bloomer. The best scape of the five has five-way branching and 34 buds - the same amount of buds it had at this time last year. Only time will tell if it will make to the 40s this time. Last year it finished the season with 57 buds on its one scape.

This is my other late-blooming selected seedling. It's out of The Ultimate Sacrifice and started blooming two days ago.

My pink seedling with the 38 buds had seven blooms today. I've never had a first-year seedling with seven blooms. This thing just continues to amaze me. It's Grandma's Smile x Dearest Valentine.

I counted the buds on this Scarlet Angel kid today. It has 18 buds on the better scape, and 16 buds on the other.

Seedling "Leonard" - I don't know if I'll register this one or not. It has great branching and lots of buds, but I don't love the size or the shape of the blooms. In the past it's had 5.5 inch blooms, but this year, without much rain, the blooms are only 5 inches. But the scapes are taller than ever - a few inches more than my yardstick. I don't care of the look of 5-inch blooms on 40-inch scapes. It seems out of proportion.

Well Linda Gluck is special. That pinkish edging is beautiful on the petals and sepals. A bit of ruffling to boot. Classic. That is something I would buy. Summer Snowball looks like a snowball with the recurving. Love it. Pink Lemonade Party is another I love for it form and color. Should go look that one up.

August Frost x Winter's Angel seedling is so pretty Debra. Looks to have just a hint yellowy/greenish tint on my computer. Does it look like that in person? Beautiful. I would pick your seedling Grandma's Smile x Dearest Valentine. over Pink Lemonade Party. Love the color, form and looks to do well on scapes and buds. I agree that a 5 or even 5.5 bloom size on 40 inch scape looks odd but the bloom is great so could be overlooked.

95 here today and suppose to get storms this evening and then an all day rain/ storm event on Thursday as a cool front rolls through. I'm sure this will cause some damage on the taller perennials but at least it will break this high heat/humidity.

Promises Kept-what a clump!! Great color on Spirited Away and an unsplotched bloom!! Always love Pink Lemonade Party but the Dearest Valentine seedling wins the prize today.

David - I don't have my Linda Gluck growing in the best place. I hope to move it in the fall. I remember your beautiful photos of it over the years. Your photos and the ones I saw on other forums motivated me to get it.

Julia - Pink Lemonade Party is harder to come by now than it was a few years ago. It used to show up on the Lily Auction quite frequently, but I haven't seen it listed in more than a year. The August Frost X Winter's Angel seedling has a very green throat, but no green tint on the petals. It will be a few years before the Dearest Val. seedling is introduced. I have four fans now.

Kate - Promises Kept has grown into a nice clump, and it always looks the prettiest when it's very hot. Spirited Away is a dark purple that is rarely splotchy. So far it's been a slow multiplier. Thanks for your nice comment on the Dearest Val. seedling!

These are all wonderful, Debra! So many to love. But above all, your seedlings shine to me. I love them all. You've got some real keepers in that bunch!

Linda Gluck here has had poor bud count and scape production. Will see this year. Dips can take a long time to establish. Is Spirited Away on rebloom? It's registered as early midseason. The pink seedling is exciting.

Mantis - Even though Spirited Away is registered EM, it's always been a midseason bloomer for me. Most of the earlies and mids, except those daylilies planted next to the house, are a week to three weeks later than usual. But most of the lates seem to be on time. I guess it was a combination of late freezes, cooler than normal temps, and almost no rain in April. Thanks for the comment about the pink seedling. I measured its height this afternoon, and it's 30 inches tall.

Julia - I wonder if you are looking at the photos with an Ipad. I just looked at these photos on my Ipad, and the August Frost pic does look yellow green. It's not. It's an ivory near-white, which is how it looks on my Dell laptop monitor. I'll post more pics of it in future days - it's definitely not the Ipad color. Ipads always add red tones to my pictures - the reds are brighter than my photos really are, the purples look red and the whites look more yellow green.

I would give LINDA GLUCK some more time. I get great scape production, but bud count is 10 to 12. I have mine growing in full sun and it does well.

Summer Snowball is one that grabs my attention every time you post it. The low bud count on the database is one reason I haven't pursued it........My Honky Tonk Barbie is blooming now too. It's just such a good overall daylily for me. Survived the arctic blast with no problems............ Spirited Away is gorgeous especially since you get purple, not maroon in your climate......... Another great group of daylilies..........Maryl

Maryl - I usually get more than the 15 buds in the registration on Summer Snowball. Last year it had bud counts from 23-34. This year, with the lack of rain, it has more like the registration numbers. It is a dormant, and probably would do well in a pot. As for registration numbers, I've been happier with plants registered at 14 to 16 buds than I have for the ones registered as getting 40 but I get 10.
