Is this Queen Elizabeth?

Oh no, another pink rose ID! Can you help? A friend asked me to help her ID this rose that was at her house when she moved in. It is at least 30 years old. The bush is at least 5 feet tall, the flowers are very fragrant. I originally thought it might be Queen Elizabeth, but the flowers are more fragrant than I've experienced with QE, and the buds are not long and slim. Flowers are about 3-3.5" in diameter and the bush blooms all summer. Another possibility I thought of was Mme. Caroline Testout. I have been unsuccessful at rooting a cutting after about a dozen tries. although other roses from her yard have been easy. Thanks for your thoughts!

I wonder if your rose might be Bewitched, a medium pink HT known for strong fragrance and angular growth. The blooms you describe are smaller than typical, but looking at the age of that bush, anything it puts out is doing pretty good.

Hi, Pretty rose. peachy-pinkno. Not Queen Elizabeth. Looks like it is over grown. Maybe a HT just needs a pruning. mm dont know what it is? Maybe ”Awareness or Agatha Christie?”

Those thorns and the almost open buds do you remind me of Caroline Testout. I will Try and find my pics to compare the leaves.

If its very fragrant, its neither 'Queen Elizabeth' nor 'Mme. Caroline Testout'.

For what it's worth, here in Cincinnati MmeCT Is quite fragrant at least in the climbing version.

Hmm…so it sounds like it’s not ‘Queen Elizabeth’. ‘Awareness’ was released in 1997 so is too recent a release to be this rose. ‘Agatha Christie‘ looks to be too orange and too dark to be this rose based on the photos on HelpMeFind. Thanks for the suggestions though. Most ”moderately” fragrant roses turn out to be faintly or lightly fragrant in this low humidity climate, but this one is stronger than that. It’s not quite but nearly as strong as my most fragrant roses. It’s comparable to ‘Bishop’s Castle’, but not wafting, and not quite as strong.

BenT - You may be right! That is a very strong possibility. The flowers, leaves, and thorns all look like a good match, as well as the year of release. Thanks for the suggestion!

I grew both Bewitched and Queen Elizabeth. Queen Elizabeth has zero scent, and Bewitched had glossier and darker green foliage than your pic. Both didn't survive my 1st zone 5 winter.

Your pic. looks more like Jadis (very thorny) with leathery foliage, Jadis is 4' to 5' and fragrant, bred before 1971.

Thanks Straw! The picture on HelpMeFind show flowers of a different form than my friend‘s rose, but it certainly is a possibility. I couldn’t find photos on HMF of the thorns, or a whole bush shot, so it is tough to compare. I will keep in in mind.
