Help choosing between two Zephyr hood inserts, please

We're renovating our kitchen and putting in a 36" KitchenAid induction cooktop. Our contractor is building a surround for our hood and we're choosing between two inserts, both from Zephyr. I'm trying to determine if the stronger, more expensive one is enough quieter or more powerful to be worth the difference. I'm hoping some of you might have experience with one of these. Here are the two models: Monsoon 1 AK9234AS, which has sounds between 3.5-9.0 or the Monsoon AK9434AS with DCBL Supression, which has a sound range of 0.8-5.0.

What is the price differential?

I have a Zephyr Monsoon but not sure of the model. Mine had to vent from the rear so that limited choices.

I would say quiet is always going to be better because if you use it you are standing directly in front and under it.

For maximum quiet, given a suitable architecture, an exterior blower with a duct long enough to include a Fantech silencer is desirable. Note that the silencer is about 4 inches larger in diameter than the duct diameter and over 3 feet long with couplings. Further noise reduction can result from wrapping the duct with dampening material. Duct and silencer should be hung from the rafters with straps, isolated as much as practical from the attic floor joists.
