So our dishwasher leaked overnight and there were puddles all over the kitchen floor, which is laminate. We didnt discover this until the morning, thus the laminate buckled all over and is pretty terrible. my husband wants to replace it with tile, as it presents no risk for water damage to a kitchen floor. However, the laminate flows thru the dining room all the way into living room, so not sure how to transition and complement laminate in other rooms.

Also not sure what color/design tile to choose. Suggestions? BTW we are painting cabinets a cream color as shown in last pic, if that helps. Appreciate any input!
