I need a pic of your windows and also wahy awning at all but the screen on any window are removeable so cleaning really should not be an issue other than the PITA to get to them from especially the sink area.

Thanks. the place isn't even built yet, just planning now. thinking of awning because single/double hung windows require physical opening that is difficult for me, especially since some will be high, or across the sink. Also, an awning window has no mullions. working a crank is easier. concerned about the height of the closing levers, though.

Manufactures use different methods for holding in the screens. If you are concerned about difficulty removing them you chod take the time to look at some samples and remove them. I find screens on casements and awnings need less cleaning than hung windows.

I have what you're describing, in the kitchen across the sink and bedroom over the bed. I LOVE those windows. They can be left open even in the pouring rain.

Mine have cranks.

I clean the glass just like any other window. The screens pop out just like regular screens.

Incidentally, I don't leave the screens up in all the windows, only the ones I plan to open. So, you won't need to clean many screens!
