Dining room space

I am doing a new build which has a 10.5x 12 foot dining room. I have a 6 foot table and am concerned about space. The end of the 12 feet would run into a peninsula. I am considering removing the peninsula but am concerned about then having too much dead space. Any advice is appreciated
