I ahte mIele DWS they take forever to do a load and if plain old satinless is the finish on the fridge the same will match from any maker. I would strongly suggest you checkout Bosch for your DW and honestly the handles all matching is an item I have never stressed over they all just seem to work together. I have no matching appliances and the handles are only 2 styles.

I am a big fan of Miele DWs. No one cares if the stainless steel exactly matches other appliances or not. No one cares if the handles match or not. When did you see a kitchen where you said "oh for crying out loud, that appliance's stainless steel is different from the other one, well forget it!".

Choosing an appliance according to whether the stainless finish will match is a losing game. Also, even within brands, the stainless finish sometimes does not match, depending on when the appliance was made, and what factory the stainless came from, and when the manufacturer bought that stainless steel versus another run of stainless steel they bought later. Just get the DW that has the features you like.

I like Bosch but I usually do paneled so it doesn’t matter.

Will always have Miele DW if possible. Going with paneled again, because I just hate cleaning large expanses of stainless. The slightly different stainless and handles between brands is a not worth worrying about. No one ever notices.

I think I may go with the Miele with the handle and then throw a dishtowel on the handle!

Some of the higher end Miele dishwashers have "knock to open" doors which don't even require a handle to open unless you want one. This applies to both the stainless doors as well as the panel doors. When you knock on the door 3 times (you can change the count if you want), it opens the door for you! :)

Just make sure you have local, reli reliable service available for the dw that you purchase.

Asko has a stainless model with a thinner tubular handle. We ordered that one to go with the tubular handle on the Sub-Zero

If you use overlays you can obtain matching handles from SubZero.

If you are OK with Miele's seeming disappearing service (at least in NH), and parts costs, use them. The dishes do come out clean, depending on your 'taste' for rinse aid.

There is a SubZero/Wolf spin-off called Cove that makes dishwashers that can exactly fit Miele dishwasher cabinet space and use Miele fitting overlays. However, besides some cleaning complaints here, Cove is in a recall mode at present so their dishwashers may not be available. Cove touts custom handles; but I don't have at hand an image with the same handles as SubZero doors use.

I decided to get the Miele G4977 - it's been discontinued but seemed to have good reviews and is on the lower end of their pricing. I'll hang my dishtowel on handle and try not to obsess that it doesn't match the other appliances. We've had cast off appliances from neighbors and craiglist finds for the past 15 years and I've managed to be okay with that!

We're in LA, so hopefully if anything goes wrong, we'll able to swing a repair person. Or down the road can switch to Bosch if we really have problems.

I had no problems with Miele repair service in LA. My Miele washer broke and I did have to wait just over a week for the first available appointment, but that is pretty common for most repair services. They usually come with most of the parts that they might need for that particular model, so few return visits. Make sure you use the Miele Salt in your DW, it made a big difference with our hard water.

Nine years ago we remodeled our kitchen with all Wolf/Subzero except a Miele dishwasher. We chose the Wolf/SZ tubular handles and we were able to special order a tubular handle from Miele for the dishwasher. The finish of the Miele is different and the handle is larger than Wolf/SZ. Bottom line, it looks fine.
