Nip the bud ASAP. Its energy should be going to building up the young rose's size, not in flowering while so young.

If its roots are well evident, gradually acclimate the start to outside humidity. When the foliage is well adjusted to your local outside humidity it's time to pot it up. I recommend a pint sized pot at first.

Once potted up it's then time to graduate it into full sunlight. That takes weeks to accomplish, especially in July and August. When the roots have filled the pint pot very well, then into a gallon pot is my advice. When the gallon pot is well root filled, it's into the ground for the young bush.

Take everything slowly.

I would just nip off the bud to the first leaf below it, leaving as much young foliage on the growing cutting as possible. At this stage in its development every leaf on the young bush is needed in order to hulk it up, even small, one or two leaflet leaves. Leaves are the bush's 'mouths.' The more mouths, the more 'eating,' occurs, which results in more growth.

Be careful not to over water the young rooted cutting. Over watering kills more young rose starts than for any other reason. At least that has been my experience.

Shaping the young bush for a good framework will come later, once it's gotten some age and size on it. Young bushes look gangly at first. As they mature, symmetry and balance develop naturally, plus with the help of your pruners. As basal growth kicks in, a young bush starts to take on its characteristic variety's mature shape, whether: upright, spreading, or arching in habit.

Everything takes time. Some varieties get to the 'gallon pot full of roots stage,' in 6-8 months, while others take up to 18 months to get that mature.

Thank you for the helpful information! I lifted the dome and worked as quick as I could. I now plan to use chopsticks to lift the dome a bit and work on acclimating it. I know this is just the beginning! Cheers
