Unfortunately resistance isn't immunity.

This fungus overwinters in the soil. Can you move your tomatoes next year to a different bed?

Also, always remove bottom leaves and side shoots that hang close to the ground, and mulch heavily (e.g. with straw). This will prevent the spores from landing on the leaves with splashing water. Don't water overhead, drip irrigation is best at keeping leaves dry (install a drip hose or tubing under mulch).

You can still minimize the damage and get a decent harvest in the future, even if your garden has been exposed.

I had early blight in my previous garden, but I got it under control after a couple of years -- you can see some damage to the leaves, but it didn't stop them from producing because the top growth was healthy.
