Start with the lighting make sure every bulb is LED 4000K then get a new rug with some color in it and use those colors for pillows the ones you have are too dark

What is the light like in during the day? With all of those windows, it should be pretty good. At night, though, with uncovered windows it looks like a black hole. Another picture of the room during the day would be helpful to people when offering ideas.

If you want to brighten the space, connect up the rug with the colorful art on the wall — get a multi-colored rug — and then experiment with solid color pillows borrowed from the art. Counterintuitvely, get a black lampshade for your arc lamp

You need more and better lighting. Add sconces on walls, additional lamps/floor lamps. And as

noted above use LED 4000L bulbs. Improved lighting will make everything in your room, including you, look better.

I suggest replacing the wooden chair on rug with colorful plain colored upholstered chair. Drapes for windows and more lighting. Larger glass coffee table and colorful pillows. Looks too dark now
