fruit size can also be due to not thinning out the crop. my peaches and nectarines were some of the largest I've grown this year because I thinned them out more this season then past years.

Mine are tiny too. I guess we need to thin them better.

Actually, the last 3 years they have been huge. This year not so much.

Peaches, like most fruits, don't like touching each other and should be thinned to about 6" apart. One year my peaches set so well that I had to remove about 90% of them which was a chore. If I had not thinned them out there would have been some broken limbs later on. Lack of sufficient water is also a likely cause of small fruits.
