Depending on size of the cooktop, a fairly hefty cable is required, either 6-3 w/G, or depending on design (see the installation manual) 6-2 w/G for the 36-inch size. The 30-inch might allow AWG 8 conductors. In a concrete floor this would probably require conduit.

Whether it was easier to run cable through walls and through the floor for a short distance vs. other methods is site dependent. Underground is possible. Along the side of the house and underground is possible. I would fight for a single hole in the concrete and conduit to an external point.

A suitable 40A or 50A breaker will be needed in the breaker box. The cooktop is hard wired to the feeder cable in an accessible box in the supporting cabinet. A disconnection means is required, but this could be a lock-out/tag-out scheme at the breaker box. Talk to your Code Enforcement Officer.

The induction cooktop depends on air cooling. Room under the unit is needed. See the installation instructions. I use wire racks in the cabinets under mine for maximum air availability.
