I got my headboard, mattress and one of the quilts I was looking at. I feel like I messed up on the mattress I ordered. It's taller than I thought and if I had realized it, I would have ordered a low profile box spring, so more of the headboard would show. My original thought was, if I liked the bedding once I got it, I would order the bigger blue/white shams (picture below). The headboard wasn't that expensive, so I thought down the line I could look for a tall, antique wood headboard.

Would you prefer:

#1 - pillows flat on the bed so you can see the headboard

#2 - the current pillow shams hiding the heading, but about the same height

#3 - the current pillow shams along with the taller blue/white shams that stand above the headboard

My next question is do any of you add other bedding under your quilts to give if the luxurious look like in the photo above. If so, what do you use? I think I would only be able to add something extra in the winter, but in the summer I'm stuck with more of the flat look. This was a picture someone posted on the Belk website when they reviewed it...pretty, but very flat looking.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep this quilt, so I've started looking at shower curtains for the guest bath and these are the 3 I found so far.
