Hit up a Home Goods and look for colorful wall art that speaks to you, and some nice planters to bring in some organic life into the space. And hang some framed photos of the people/animals important in your life.
Congratulations, and enjoy nesting I your new home! You deserve happiness, security, and comfort!

Congratulations on your new home. With limited budge and space, buy only what you need and only things you love (not "something just for now."). Bring your favorite color(s) into each area. If you have a floor plan, that will help with layout. If one is not available to grab online, a sketch will do.

I would ignore the high shelves for several reasons. They are large and will require large pieces, and you would need a tall ladder to access. Look for gently used furniture on Facebook Marketplace (dresser, headboard, tables/chairs). Our daughter helped us sell items from my parents' estate and our recent downsizing on FB. Bargains can be found.

What design style speaks to your soul? Post a few examples of rooms you love.

In my area, there are plenty of vintage/antique furniture storesand now isx gaarage sale season. You can get some great stuff at prices better than you pay for new, poorly-made furniture. It takes time looking, though. And you need to inspect what you find. We buy vintage becasuse we love it and it's better made. We got a pair of mahogany sleigh twin beds for the price of Ikea.

So happy for you and your family, you have a beautiful home, so you have a great canvas to work with.

Craigslist and Offer up are great, and paint is your friend. Buy well-made peices and make them over. There are lots of tutorials on the web. Pick a few colors and use them to add personality.
