Those are fantastic looking plants. And you seem to have quite the connection with her.

Thank you! Her plants are gorgeous!! She is actually really sweet and goes out of her way to find plants for her customers. The Quinquenervia was sold out online and she said she would find me one. Boy did she!! :)

Gorgeous plants Tika! How are the roots handled for shipping?

@sunfleurpower Thank you! Her medium is coco coir/chips. The previous order I received was the same medium and they are doing really well. Here is a pic of my krohniana silver 6/15 and 7/20.

Thank you Bill. I am excited about the new hoyas. :)

Tika - I checked out the site you mentioned but my antivirus software flags it a potentially dangerous. do you access it through the web or through FB? Those are some of the healthiest and best looking plants I've seen. I hope they do really well for you.

Bill, this is the website https://unsolicitedplanttalks.com/plants

I access through the web. Thank you!!

Thanks Tika. I'll check them out now.

Just checked them out. Some beautiful plants and a nice selection. Thanks for the site.

I'm trying to use them to ID some of my NOIDs, but so many of these plants look similar it's difficult. They do have a great selection though, and some impressive prices on some of them too!

Love April Mall and UPT. I believe they are having a second open greenhouse (they are in socal and there's a sign up on their website), where buyers could personally get the plant from their location instead of having it shipped. Her greenhouses are amazing and her plants look gorgeous/healthy!

The only one I REALLY want and of course it is 950 dollars is the Wilbur Graves. Boy that is one beautiful plant even without flowers.

Nice plants by the way. Success to you. Love what you have and thank you for sharing.

They are planning on having some larger plants on the website Monday or Tuesday. She posted these on FB. They all look beautiful.

Tika, those are really nice looking plants.

I'm surprised at the small pots. Any hoyas I have which are that size, I give a large pot for the roots to roam around in. My theory is a larger root system allows more nutrients to be taken up and consequently a healthier plant. Since it's a very chunky mix, there's no fear of becoming saturated. So far its worked.

The plants you've posted pictures of really look great. Suitable for clipping and propogating for fuller pots, or just to have duplicates.

    Thanks for sharing Tika.

I'd be interested in one of those big ol' hoyas from UPT. I've been trying to behave but that's very tempting!

@popmama (Colorado, USDA z5) Which one do you have your eye on??? 😃

@Tika Land That Khao Yai is of interest. The website is locked, I can't even drool over ones I want! The two at the top of my wishlist are : sarawak and icensis. But sometimes I can become enamored with others. It happens! I'm excited to see the restock but trying not to get too excited at the same time because I know the plants will sell out fast.

I got an email from them saying their restock will open up tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. pacific time.

@stupidlazydog CT zone 5b/6aDid you order anything last night from UPT? I ordered a loheri and a walliniana. How is your elliptica from Gardino’s?

Nope, not this time. I do have a loheri I bought from them earlier this summer. I did order an alagensis and a variegated multiflora off Etsy. Oh and a Grey Ghost cutting. :-)

My elliptica from Gardino's looks pretty good. It does have some spotting on the leaves but it's been growing well.

SLD, you ever counted the amount of hoyas you have? I'm sure it's impressive, especially if you have multiple blooming at the same time.

Elliptica is very cute, SLD! Stop tempting me. Ha.

Bill, I've avoided counting them, lol! Most are still small, though.

popmama, I'm just a Hoya aquisition enabler :-)

SLD, there's a little known Hoya algorithm which states that any Hoya under 7" in height counts as 1/5th of a plant. Those 8" to 10" count as 1/4 of a plant. 11 to 12" are 1/2 a plant, and anything over 12" is a whole plant.

Additionally, the measurement is taken from the pot rim to overall height to clear the rim. Vines don't count, so if a plant has vines several feet long, but it only raises up over the rim by 5", (just enough to clear the rim), then it counts as 1/5th of a plant. Four more, and it'll count as one Hoya.

So, just remember the formula when looking for plants, and purchase accordingly.

    Simple right? 😉

Bill, I like your algorithm! Going by that criteria, I really don't have that many. I better buy more :-)

Haha...Bill I like that logic! SLD ohhh I like the elliptica. Love the new baby leaves!!
