I've been tinkering with pruning this year. On various shrubs, I have thinned out a few more canes in general and I like the effect. It's not like a bush ball of blooms and leaves. But there is a bit more spacing. It's not all uniform due to the thinning Some blooms are lower and there is some exposed space. I like the look. It's got more a dimensional look than a ball all wall of leaves and blooms.

Anyhow if you guys are all gung ho about the bloom balls and qty of them, maybe it's not for you. I gotta say, don't be afraid to take a cut. You might like the look . I do.

No whether I do because I like the look or cause it's something different, TBD

HA HA, After typing this all out, I just realize what I did . I gave what they call a layered haircut .
