Good day! I am a high school teacher looking for someone who would please guide me to create a school bee garden to help the pollinators and tree planting for my students? I work at a high school and want to get a community service project for my students starting this coming school year. This project searches for opportunities for the students to interact and be human after the difficult times of Covid-19. Help them integrate and develop a sense of belonging while planting and taking care of our trees and bee feeding spots. The project would develop through their high school career to have each student plant at least 4 trees and help grow the flower gardens. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it! =)

You should consider creating a monarch way station as well, depending upon your location. (Google Monarch Way Station)

Have a look at the website for Crown Bees, too. They provide mason bees and leaf cutters, and have wonderful tutorials.

This might be a dumb question but... You have secured school/school board approval for this, yes?

I only ask because since bee stings and allergic reactions are a real and seroius thing, so I'm a bit surprised a school is willing to take on a bee project since it's a potential liability.

Yes! Yes! Yes! What a wonderful thing to do. Those kids will come back years later to check on their trees!
