The top is California poppy, Escholzia californica, a very freely seeding annual.

The second shows red gladiolus, a tender summer flowering bulb, and purple coneflower, Echinacea purpurea. That is a perennial.

You can get gladiolus in many colors. And you should! They're gorgeous.

Where I am in central NH, and where you are in CO, you will have to dig and store that gladiolus bulbs for winter or else plant in a large pot and then bring into an insulated garage or basement for the winter.
