Help choosing dining table

I can’t decide on a dining table for our new dining room. I like the wall color and light fixture so I’d like something to match both of those and the light oak floor. Would something like the second picture match, or is the wood too different? Any suggestions?

I need to know the rest of the decor in your home but IMO that table is clunky and looks like it is made out palletts and not attractive at all . Of course I have no clue as to your style. It for sure does not work with the cahir rail and as for the floor a rug under any wood table will help . So post osme pics of the rest of the living space .

Did you choose the paint colors and the make the decision on the way it was applied?

Totally agree with Patricia Colwell Consulting about the table.

That table has a leg room issue as well.

Then too, if/when you need to move it to clean ... nope.

You really don't need to match the wood of the table with the wood floors. Just choose wood (or other material) you like for your table. You might, however, consider the style of your choice of overhead light fixture -- black metal -- if there is any metal in the tables you are considering.

It is also not adjustable in size, if that matters. It appears you need to seat six? Will you need to seat more people frequently?

IF the chairs are comfortable and suit your taste, though, they could work with different kinds of tables and the light fixture.

You might get the suggestion to add a rug to your room from someone but, with children especially, and good looking floors, do seriously consider leaving the floor bare. (All small children spill stuff. Might want to hold off on rug investments for a while.)

A table with the traditional four legs on the corners would give you more leg room.

If you want something less "same", you might consider a trestle table.

Are you adding any cabinet? If you are, that would be the wood finish you'd want your table to match.

Just a thought: Whatever table you get, do make sure you add felt slider to the feet/legs so you don't scratch your floor.

Like your longer window adding more natural light than a shorter one would.

Like the color of your accent wall. Is that Burnt Sienna?

Thanks for the tips! i really liked the look of the chairs more than the table so i agree, a traditional table would definitely work better for us. I did not choose the paint, it was like this when we moved in I just like the color. I’m considering repainting so below the chair rail is white and above to all be the same color though.

If you do repaint I would either remove the chair rail altogether or maybe install wainscoting below, which could be painted a cream color if you're staying with the burnt sienna.

If you want the area beneath the chair railing white, consider adding white wainscoting from rail down instead of just painting it white -- that will be a better look.

lI don't think the rust wall color works in the room. I would paint the back wall the same color as your drapery panels.

Hi I think your inspo pic looks rustic, is that what you want? Just looking at your light fixture, wall color and floors, found this pic. I do think a lighter curtain, and wall art would add nice touches. Good luck.

@roarah just saw you posted same pic, ha!

I prefer round pedestal table with expansion leaves. However I would find a table finish that works well with your wood floors and trim, then choose a complimentary paint color, which may be the same, or very close to what you have selected.

I would choose a table you LOVE and then repaint as the table is a far larger investment than a gallon or two of paint .....

Beverly, love your suggestion. Where do you find those chairs you suggested?
