I'm 5'7" and inherited my father's 1976 Eames chair. I had it for 21 yrs. It moved 7 times with me and always ended up in a corner. It took up a lot of room. It was never sat in as it was the most uncomfortable chair, even for my 6'2" tall partner. My nephew finally took it off my hands.

Regarding the size, take the measurements and measure it out in the spot where you want it. Make sure you include the ottoman and have it pushed away from the chair. I'd even cut out the measurement on newspaper or kraft paper to get a good feel for it.
