Collections are now getting devalued

If it's rare, it's probably a fussy diva, and expensive. Why would I want that? On the other hand, any plant that I want but don't yet have is rare - to me.

While it is true, the price of some plants is dropping, there are plenty that are not. One of them was even on the broadcast news the other night. That was a shock to hear about the price of a houseplant on the news!

Price dropping is bound to happen as some of the plants become more readily available. And there are still a lot of variables as to which plants are readily available where.

Which plant is that on the news?

Can't say I think of my plants as having a monitary value, so prices dropping would just mean I might be able to buy something I couldn't before ... oh wait, my house plant spots are full, still can't buy them. Devalued collection? Not the point of collecting for me.

I'm not aware of anyone buying plants as investments - in anything other than their own enjoyment.
