How to add greenery/depth

ideally id like to add built in planters between both existing corner planters along the back wall but since budget will be an issue how can i add some greenery with potted plants in the meantime? id like to keep it more of a classic look (nothing tropical). i was thinking potted fruitless olives?

I like boxwoods. Both faux and real would look great.

Thank you. That’s a great plan. I had thought of doing glazed blue terracotta pots to match the pool tile with something in them to add height, but the idea of faux boxwood might be better until I have the budget to have the hard scape redone professionally.
