Will the HOA allow you to add height to the fence? Maybe with a trellis or something

Unfortunately no. The fence separates 2 subdivisions and HOA only allows 6 ft fencing.

You will definitely loose a chunk of your yard. But privacy may take precedence. I think I might move the playground to the small area on the side of the yard. By the ac unit.
Then line the fence with any tree, and some outdoor lighting. Rocks in place of mulch would elevate the look as well.

If you want a fruit tree, put it in the middle of your yard. I'd take your photos to a good nursery in your area and ask about fast growing upright trees and large shrubs to line your fence.

Look up Pitch Apple. It is a FL native plant that can be grown into a hedge. It looks nice and will do well in your area.
