Skylight light fixture?

I am in the process of redoing my guest bathroom. There is a skylight above the toilet/sink area and my contractor suggested we put a small light strip or something of that sort up there for a little extra light at night. Has anyone heard of this being done or have any suggestions about what type of light to use essentially in a skylight.
