Isn't that a sliding door closet shown within the bedroom? Whatever it is, it seems to cut into the available total bedroom space. I did a search and found a chart that indicates 10' x 10' is the recommended minimum size for a queen bed, so if you have 9+' x 10+' of floor space available, then a queen should fit with a little squeeze on one side. lol! Try marking out the size of each bed on the floor and see if you think it will work.

eta: I have a 9+' x 11+' bedroom with no closet and I was told that the PO had a king bed and freestanding wardrobe in it! I imagine it was a tight fit. That room is a plant room now. :)

What is your plan for clothing storage?

Assuming you use two feet on the wall left of the slider as you enter? With the bed on the shared living room wall? You have 111 inches width for a bed. A queen will use 60 of those 111, leaving room for bedside tables and lamps /both side. Keep those to 24 inched wide.

You will have 22 inches between the END of the bed and whatever storage you selelct. That should have sliding or by pass doors.

The point is, it will be tight in either bed size, so no point in reducing your own comfort. A full will add only five inches of passage at the foot of the bed, and will be 6 inches less in width, giving you three more inches on each bed side.

I'd stick with queen. No bulky headboard or foot board. Curious as to where this is.........as you have no WINDOW in the bedroom.
