The plant has glands that secrete a sticky mucilage that entraps smaller insects that aren't powerful enough to break free from the sticky trap. Other glands secrete enzymes that digest only the digestible parts of the plant. The digestible parts become liquefied and the liquid are absorbed through holes in the leaf cuticle leaving only the indigestible parts of the insects exoskeleton on the leaf surface.

that said.. this type of plant must have some type of luring mechanism.. to attract what it needs ...else how would the meal find them ...

..... not what HU+digits asked, but the glistening drops of sticky glandular exudate smell sweet, and look like nectar or water. Leaf color is also attractive to some insects.
