The kitchen hoya ICU area

I just thought I'd post a picture group shot of my kitchen hoya ICU area.

I have a small grow light attached under one of the kitchen counters near the sink. All of my hoyas in leca live here (with the exception of one, there's always that one ya know). These are all hoyas that I tend to monitor closely. Some of them were imports that had little to no roots. Some of these were unrooted cuttings.

There are three in this group that are not in leca. The two under the cloche: serpens and Mathilde are not in leca. The rotundiflora is in soil but for some reason I still feel like I need to watch over him.

Oh and that oddball in the lower left is a scindapsus treubii moonlight, one leaf that is left from the large plant that declined very rapidly. One leaf left in leca. It has massive roots but shows no signs of becoming anything more than one single leaf.

@Tika Land: Your rotundiflora looks very healthy overall. Mine lost the new small leaves for a while too. Mine is still in a very small pot and I water it about once a week.

Popmama, what is the one second from the left in the tray? I really like that little area. I keep getting more and more ideas from this forum than I have room for!

Bill, in the front row the second one from the left is Hanhiae pink. That was one from AH Hoyas. It has developed good roots in leca and seems to be happy.

I am losing my cinnamomifolia that I got from My Home Nature. One of the leaves suddenly turned yellow and another one is doing the same thing. I will probably move it to leca today or tomorrow. It was doing fine and then suddenly went south.

Kyra - thanks, that looks exactly, from a leaf standpoint, like one of my NOIDs. Problem, they all look so similar I fear they will always remain as Noid 1, Noid 2 etc.

@popmama (Colorado, USDA z5) I am still having issues with my rotundiflora where the new leaves keep dropping off. How often do you water this little lady? Mine is growing but the little leaves fall off.

I've had a couple of near losses recently. Whenever that happens, I consider those that I've been lucky to keep. Rotundiflora is one of those. When they lose baby leaves, I don't panic too much.

The panic sets in when I lose a bunch of mature leaves all at one time. It's really unsettling. Then I start questioning my hobby!

Tika, with some of my smaller clippings, I cut a clear two liter plastic bottle in half and place one half over the plant, sorta like a cloach which increases the humidity. It really helps.

@popmama (Colorado, USDA z5) Oh no!!! I just experienced that with one of my macrophylla. Watered it before vacation and didnt realize water was still in the pot. Came home to 5 or 6 yellowed leaves and they fell off. Ugh! I know the feeling.

@Bill M. Thank you! I have used leca in a tray with my curtisii and that has helped it grow like crazy! I might need to up the humidity.
