I'd start by removing that frilly pelmet 😕

It might be time to part ways with the strip of wallpaper around the room. If that is able to be removed, along with the pelmut, you might find yourself better able to visualise any changes. Am thinking a little bit of a search for ideas and saving to an idea book might help identify what sort of scheme, or elements, you lean towards. That will help you work towards an overall look that will co-ordinate the style of furniture and colors.

Unfortunately I find myself reacting to a furniture needs and struggling to keep to an overall vision so things end up looking hap hazzard, so give yourself time to work up your ideas!

I think you could keep the bedhead and go for a natural with light warm grienge, or sage wall. Tie the wardrobe to the bed by locating besides that combine wood and white paint (a painted body with wood top?). A linen drape at the window, and possibly a window bench which doubles with storage...

Wall paper and general throw back to the 80s to be thrown! Lol. I didn't decorate that 😂

Depending on how much light you have, I think F&B Oval Room Blue, which looks more green, is a lovely deep but not dark colour. You could get curtains to match (Dunelm have a good range) with a new curtain pole. White woodwork always looks smart and fresh. Vintage shops sell lots of lovely painted bedside cabinets, if you have any round your way. As you know the throwback wallpaper needs to go. You can then get patterned bedding to go with it all, or simple white bedding with a throw and cushions. This is Oval Room Blue in my kitchen. I think Cromarty and Mizzle are lovely soft greens so worth a look?
