Everything looks so full and lush! I guess the bugs don't eat Castor beans because of their toxicity?

I would imagine that might "protect" them.

(I guess I was a bit surprised to see such a highly poisonous plant in a public setting.)

That surprises me a bit as well. In a private garden any liability would be low but out in public and so visible, I am impressed by the bravery!

But they are stunning :-) A plant that I have never grown but would like to. I was too late to get seeds for this season (everyone sold out) and never found any starts locally so will have wait another year That big, bold, colored foliage is just so appealing!

A lot of landscape plants are very toxic, like oleanders and foxgloves.

I'd really like to try the variety called 'New Zealand Purple'. It always looks so vibrant in photos.

Lovely - and very different for a public planting. Sometimes it discourages me when the local gas station or grocery market have better gardens than I do haha!
