Sorry that two inch gap will never work- it will get nasty. Either fix the tile so the bench is flush with the face of the tub, or install the glass at the end of the bench.

I agree that putting the door / fixed panel at that line would make that little area impossible to clean. It is to bad the bench seat was not brought out to that line. I really do not see any other option then putting it on the bench shy of removing the bench entirely and going with a non permanent seat.

That was actually the solution that I was thinking of, but full width of the door is 41 inches and I am told that they don't offer doors this wide - only go to 36 inches. I wonder if I should contact some other companies to see what they say about this?

Full shower. Mobility issues are a long story but advantageous to have seat at the door. We have a grab bar on the hand held at the shower

We got it fixed so there is no longer any gap.
