I'm struggling with how to fit it into a farmhouse decor. If you're changing the farmhouse style my initial thought was a funky golden color to match the chair, something a little funky with a unique leg to tie into the chairs pattern. If you really like color I would look at the color wheel and get a complimentary color for the chair...I don't think it's showing true on my phone as your description is different than what I'm seeing for the burgundy. Another thought is to wallpaper it and hide the paneling all together unless you love it or just go with a neutral (my preference) and let your decor speak instead. If you don't love the chair but for sentimental reasons want to keep it then I would reupholster it, for a good quality chair it's worth it.

Thank you for the advice. I really love the chair for the comfort. Finding someone who does upholstery without having to drive 3 hours is nearly impossible. If I could find someone, it may be easier than trying to decorate to the chair color. Haven't given up on finding someone.

On my screen, the chair looks like a dark dusty rose. I can see that colour with a darker raspberry, steely blues, off-whites and muted golds. I suggest you pick up appealing paint strips from a good paint store to see what kind of colour palette appeals to you.

If the chair fabric has you truly stumped, look into slipcovers if you can't find a local recoverer. Recent thread in this forum mentioned a couple of companies that does good remote work. With precise measurements and pics, you're bound to get good results.

I am going to keep looking for a better picture of the chair. If I find one, I hope you will come back and check it out.
