Window probably too wide for plantation shutters. Cellular shades/blinds would offer a lighter appearance and they come in some lovely accent colors. Roman shades typically are divided into sections for wide windows.

Hey There: You have a few options for your window: you can replace the wood shade with white faux wood. This will give you the same operation as you have now but lightens up the room. Or you can go with light filtering honeycomb shades that open bottom-up and top down. A single window covering that is most versatile and adapts to light and privacy. Or you do double roller shades with alternating stripes that also give you privacy or light if needed.
