The previous home owner painted the banister, door frames, and doors an off white beige color. I think the paint is latex or oil based? It's matte and is chipping on some of the doors. We'd like to repaint over the banister a black color. 2 examples posted.
Is the existing paint able to be paint over with a certain type of paint? Or does this paint need to be removed by sanding? I'd also love any suggestions on a paint type and color. Thinking more of a matte black over a shiny.
